White Swan

We only stayed for one night but it was a really nice experience. We arrived quite late but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The building is old but clean and homely - the occasional creaky floor and lopsided feel gave it a really rustic charm. The room was quaint but very clean with a great bathroom, and we fondly remember the shortbreads that were left with the kettle, coffee and tea. We wished that we could have stayed longer to see the area more and experience their pub, so we will certainly be visiting again.

Stayed 1 night. And what a superb place. The staff we're friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds we're very comfortable. Had an evening meal and breakfast and the food was freshly cooked and absolutely superb. The bar was great , busy bar ,decent choice of beers. Locals we're friendly enough. A hidden gem, would definitely stay here again. Also would definitely recommend.

All good for us no complaints at all. Very friendly, all staff were great food brilliant. The breakfast was amazing and plenty of it. For the price it is really good for the money. Anything no problem x

The outside doesn't look that inviting but we went on for a meal. Very welcoming with dogs allowed. The food was very nice, the broccoli and potatoe soup could have been a bit thicker. We both had paninis which were lovely and filling. We were so full we thought we wouldn't manage a desert but they did a half portion for us, and only charged half price. When we got the bill I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. If you want good basic food at great value I would recommend the White Swan

Ideal location in a friendly town. Staff were happy and friendly and did everything to ensure our stay was comfortable. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Clean comfortable and excellent value for money. My dad left his shirts in the room and the manager was happy to post these back to him.

We visited the White Swan whist staying just out of Duns and my parents, kids and I really enjoyed our visits. Our travels took us throughout a lot of the UK and finally back to Australia. My 12 and 13yo pretty much lived off Mac and Cheese and, to this day, our standards are "yuk" to "this is almost as good as the White Swan". So far, there hasn't been an equal and certainly not a better Mac. The lady behind the bar was really nice and so were the patrons. Thanks everyone, we had a couple of really good evenings and meals in your establishment. The kids want to return next visit to UK. I'm trying to make it happen

Cannot review rooms as we only dined here for lunch. What I can say is we were so very pleased with our meals. Garlic mushrooms were huge and actually tasted like fresh mushrooms, so often have had these and they were watery and tasteless so thanks for those. The lasagne was very nice but my steak and ale pie was gorgeous! Everything tasted so fresh, the meat was lacking in gristle thank goodness vegetables a touch al dente, just how I like them. The portions were huge, it’s not often we are beaten and especially me by a few chips but sadly didn’t have room to finish the meal. Much needed though after a long walk. We will be back for more . Finally a thank you to the staff who were so very pleasant and friendly, a great welcome, felt like a nice place when we walked in the door. Would recommend.
